Ceramics has fascinated me since childhood. At my aunt’s home, I had the chance to make my first pieces. A house, a duck, a fox, and a strawberry cake from those years are on display here. With my birthday in January, my heartfelt wish for a fresh strawberry cake remained unfulfilled. So I baked one myself—from clay.
Later, I took numerous classes in Europe, Japan, and the United States. I was especially drawn to working at the potter’s wheel and to the many ways glazes and firing techniques can transform colors and surfaces. Alongside these childhood pieces, the exhibition presents a sugar bowl and a large bowl, both made in 2010.
