Introduction

Creation in a Network of Influences
Bells-Hoerturm-7

Born in Weimar in 1966, composer, musician, and visual artist Hans Tutschku draws on many sources: Dada and the Bauhaus, poetry and theater, journeys and everyday sounds, improvisation and encounters with other cultures. These influences meet without forming a single path. A painting becomes light on a dancer’s body; a childhood piano joins a mechanical forest; a wooden sculpture becomes an instrument in a visitor’s hands.

Across music, photography, ceramics, and installations, a common thread is his curiosity about what familiar things can become. Listening guides this exploration: attending to materials, to places, and to one another. Technical invention opens possibilities for play, while personal memories find unexpected forms.

Bringing childhood drawings and early experiments into conversation with recent works, this exhibition invites visitors to take their time, follow their own associations, and find room for their memories and imagination.
