The entire tape material is derived from sounds produced by the English horn. Alongside clearly defined pitches, key clicks, air noises, and short musical phrases were recorded in collaboration with Axel Schmidt.
This raw material was then transformed to varying degrees, moving beyond the conventional sound palette of the instrument and expanding its natural register to encompass the full spectrum. The three sections of the composition present distinct perspectives, where multiple associative layers intertwine, emerge, and fade into obscurity.
During the performance, the solo instrument engages in a dynamic dialogue with the tape—commenting on it, confronting it, and at times, battling against it.
