Periods of Existence is about mobility and constantly shifting colors within a fairly static framework of repetitions—like looking at stained glass windows. The piece was composed using a limited repertoire of elements. Through strong local contrasts between movement and stillness, as well as synchronicity and temporal shifts, the elements continuously form new combinations. While they undergo slight variations, they defend their existence against excessive development.
