This composition is based exclusively on frequency modulation (FM synthesis). Programming in GFA-Basic and using a MIDI sequencer to store all FM parameters enabled long, continuous sound transformations that seamlessly transition from one timbre to the next, avoiding abrupt program changes.
However, the title refers not only to sonic transitions but also to shifts between different states of density, temporal levels, and other musical parameters such as space, duration, and dynamics. The work pushes the concept of transitions to its limits.
