Eikasia - representation - model - picture - comparison - conjecture.

This composition is my first work with physical modeling. In all my previous electroacoustic pieces, I have always processed existing sound sources. With Eikasia, I attempt to achieve a comparable sonic complexity purely through synthesis—similar to what we know from acoustic objects.
At the beginning of the work, the formalization of existing metal and string sounds was carried out through physical modeling in the computer. During the realization process, I compared the synthesized sounds with the real source sounds to create a broad sonic spectrum—ranging from abstract design to a realistic representation of the originals.
The temporal structuring of the form sections resulted from the sounds themselves; it developed organically, so to speak, during the working process. All sounds were created using the program Modalys from IRCAM.
