Percussion-Forest unfolds as a gradually evolving dialogue between computerized percussion mallets that bring acoustic instruments to life and a network of 24 loudspeakers. While the sounds of the acoustic instruments remain stable, the electronic sounds—exclusively derived from percussive sources—continuously transform in their structure and timbre.
Without any change in mallets and with minimal dynamic variation, the performed musical lines take on a machine-like precision, while the electronic sounds mimic the expressive nuances of human performance.
This work can be presented both as a concert performance and as a public sound installation, where the audience is free to move through the space. It can also be realized as an immersive installation in a museum setting.
