Similis is the final composition in a series of three, all exploring the idea of ritual without replicating an existing one. Each piece plays with the simultaneity of very different sound phenomena, coming together to celebrate an imaginary ceremony.

In rojo, the source sounds were recordings and sonic memories—primarily voices—from various journeys over recent years. In object-obstacle, the sounds originated mainly from self-made resonators, recorded with contact microphones.

Now, Similis bridges these two contrasting sound worlds—the human, voice-like realm and the technical, instrument-like domain—engaging them in a dialogue of contrasts.
